SLJ task 10

Born on December 2,1923, Maria Callas, also known as La Divina, was a Greek soprano famous for her wide- ranging voice. She was taught in music at age 13 and had to deal with wartime poverty and Near-sightedness that left her nearly blind on the stage. She also had a rivalry with Renata Tebaldi ( Madama Butterfly)  and also had a love affair with a Greek shipping tycoon known as  Aristotle Onassis.

What famous person do you think is interesting and why?

  1. Kia ora Sophie, this is Kieryn from the Summer Learning Journey.
Well done for creating such an excellent post about Maria Callas! I had never heard of her before, so it was great to read all of the information you wrote in this blog post.
Greek soprano singers have the most wonderful voices, and Maria Callas is no exception. Do you listen to her music regularly, or did you only find out about her from doing this activity?
Singing is something that I really enjoy in life, whether it’s singing along to the radio in the car or, like Maria, performing on stage.
    Do you enjoy singing?
Have you ever performed on stage or in a show?
One famous person who I find interesting is Lorde. Her songs are incredible, and it is amazing to think that she got where she is today from winning a school singing competition.
    Nga mihi
