SLJ task 5

For SLJ we had to write three things we treasure and why.
Here's my list:
My grandma's rosary: because it has been with us for a long time and I'll need to pass it on to the next generation
Our Christmas tree: it's been with us for this year and the year before that and the year before that and the year before that. So, technically, it's been here for years and years and yeeeeeears.
Last but not least, Mum's recipe for beef noodle soup. Mum will teach me how to make it and Ava will learn how to do it too! It's very yummy and it's my favourite thing to eat.
What three things do you think are important to you? Write your response in a comment and post.

  1. Kia ora Sophie, this is Kieryn from the Summer Learning Journey.
Thank you for sharing these three things that you treasure with us!
Your grandma’s rosary sounds exceedingly interesting. What is a rosary, and how long has it been in your family for?
Perhaps you could upload a photo of the rosary onto this blog post for everyone to see!
Christmas trees are very special items, so it is lovely to see that yours is something that you treasure. It is also great to see that you reuse yours every year! In my house, we use live pine trees as our Christmas trees, so ultimately we end up with a new tree each year.
Yum, beef noodle soup sounds absolutely delicious and I am delighted to hear how you treasure one of your mum’s recipes!
Have you ever helped your mum make the soup before? What kinds of ingredients does she put in the soup?
    Keep up the excellent work!
    Nga mihi
